William Beers died at the home of his son, M.H. Beers in Rosebud on Sunday night at 11:05 o'clock. On Feb 6th he suffered an attack of paralysis from which he never rallied; Mr. Beers was favorably known to hundreds of friends in this section. For over thirty years he resided on his farm near Flinton, moving with his son to Rosebud about one year ago. He was a veteran of the Civil war, and was born in Boggs township, Huntingdon county, July 20th, 1841. He leaves one son, M. H. Beers of Rosebud, and two daughters, Miss Laura Beers, of Utahville, and Mrs. Frank Brandt, of Altoona; seven grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters survive: George, of Nebraska; Herman of Iowa; Alfred and Kate, of California. Funeral services were held at the home in Rosebud Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 by Rev. S. Herbert Berger, pastor of the Coalport Alliance church. Interment was made in the Beaver Valley cemetery. Undertaker R. E. Chaplin was in charge of the funeral.

He spent thirty years on a farm in Flinton. A veteran of the Civil War, he leaves son, M.H. Beers; two daughters: Miss Laura Beers and Mrs Frank Brandt; 7 grandchildren; and the following brothers/sisters: George of Nebraska, Herman of Iowa, Alfred and Kate of California. Interment in Beaver Valley Cemetery, Flinton, Cambria County, Pa.
