Professional Football Player. Born in Waco, Texas, he played at the linebacker position for nine seasons (1960 to 1968) in the American Football League with the Dallas Texans, Kansas City Chiefs and Cincinnati Bengals. He was a member of two AFL championship teams (1962 Texans, 1966 Chiefs) which includes the Chiefs team that appeared in the first Super Bowl in 1967. His other career highlights include five-time All-Pro selection (1960 to 1962, 1964 and 1966) and four-time All-Star status (1961 to 1962, 1965 to 1966). After playing collegiate football at Texas Christian University (TCU), he appeared in 116 career regular season AFL games. Headrick was inducted into the Kansas City Chiefs Hall of Fame in 1993. He died from cancer.
