Alice Flattery Roessner, 61, an Eagle River resident, died June 5 at Humana HospitalAlaska. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Eagle River with the Rev. Alfred Giebel officiating. A visitation was at Evergreen Memorial Chapel, Downtown.
Mrs. Roessner was born Aug. 21, 1927, in New York, N.Y. She had lived in Alaska since 1961, and in 1968 she went to work for the Municipality of Anchorage. She had been executive secretary to city managers Douglas Weiford, Robert Sharp and Ron Garzini. She also worked for the staff of several mayors until her retirement in 1986. She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church and was a former member of St. Andrew's Altar Society.
She leaves her husband of 29 years, Eugene, of Eagle River; her stepsons, Kurt, of Verona, N.J., and Stephen, of Long Island, N.Y.; her sister, Patricia Cleary, of Norwalk, Conn.; her brother, Paul Flattery, of Deerfield, Ill.; and five grandchildren. Burial was in Angelus Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers included Paul Flattery, Donald Cleary, Virgil Daniel, Donald Roessner, Kurt Roessner and Stephen Roessner.
