Marlow - A. J. SCHWARZ, 84, of Marlow, Okla., died Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2008, in Marlow.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Stephens United Methodist Church, Duncan, with the Rev. Ruth Atterberry officiating. Interment will be in Duncan Cemetery under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.
He was born Dec. 29, 1923, in McKinney, Texas, to Andrew J. and Ester Lee Miller Schwarz. He married Betty Ann Bryan on Oct. 23, 1942, in Duncan.
A. J. was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U. S. Army. He worked for the federal government as a surveyor in the Soil Conservation Service.
A. J. enjoyed fishing, and was a big basketball fan. He was a member of Stephens United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Betty of the home; three daughters, Jean Hull and her husband Marlin, and Nona Johnson, all of Bethany, and Amy Canoy and her husband Rusty of Lexington; a son, Phil Schwarz and his wife Alana of Edmond; and 19 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Jack Schwarz.
