Margaret "Peggy" Northrop, 83, of Mooresville died Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008. She was born July 16, 1924, in Thurso, Scotland, the daughter of David and Margaret Sinclair Simpson.
Mrs. Northrop was a 1946 graduate of Moody Bible Institute, where she met her husband, the Rev. Stewart Northrop. They were married Feb. 3, 1945, in Chicago. He preceded her in death March 14, 1977.
She was a homemaker and retired from the State of Indiana, where she worked in the Internal Revenue Division. She was actively involved in her husband's ministry, and they served Plainfield First Baptist Church, where she was a member, and Liberty Baptist Church of Greensburg.
Survivors include sons, Paul (Ann) Northrop of Bradenton, Fla., and Stephen (Pat) Northrop of Columbus; sisters, Mary Danker of Cape Coral, Fla., and Cathy Osborne of West Palm, Fla., a brother, Malcolm Simpson of Cape Coral, Fla.; grandchildren, Paul (Jennifer) Northrop of Riverview, Fla., Heather (Gilberto) Junqueira of Brazil, Julie Zamarripa of Columbus and Bryan Northrop of Indianapolis, and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Margaret Simpson; her husband, the Rev. Stewart Northrop; and a son, Mark Northrop.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home in Greensburg with Brother John Parsley officiating. Calling will be from noon until service time Thursday. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.
