Lawrence "Larry" Lee Decker, a Ripley resident, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2008 in the Cushing Regional Hospital at the age of 68 years. Private services will be held at a later date. Larry will be laid to rest at the Mt. Hope cemetery North of Ripley, OK. The son of the late Stanley Decker and Jessie (Patterson) Decker, Larry was born on March 27, 1940 in Grayson County, Kentucky. Larry lived most of his life in Alabama where he worked as an athletic coach and drove a school bus. Later Larry moved to OK. where he continued coaching in his spare time. Larry enjoyed playing and watching any kind of sports, playing the banjo and gardening, he also enjoyed playing with his great nieces and nephews. Larry is survived by 5 brothers, Jerl Decker of Ripley, OK, Lowell Decker of Louisville, KY, Carl Stanley Decker of HorseBranch, KY, Arthur Herbert Decker of Caneyville, KY, and Ronnie Ray Hayes of Caneyville, KY; three sisters, Shirley Varble of Ripley, OK, Ruby Meredith of Caneyville, KY, and Barbara Sue Hayes of Leitchfield, KY; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by one brother Willis Decker of Grayson Kentucky.
