MRS. HERBERT LILLY DIES

Mrs. Austa Mary Lilly, 84, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Paul Wilcox in Concordia Saturday. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Methodist church in Wayne. The Rev. B. Hayenga officiated and burial was at Union cemetery (sic). Mrs. Lilly is survived by her husband, Herbert of the home, four daughters, Mrs. Bess Burr of Palo Alto, Cal., Mrs. Ruby Boal of San Francisco, Cal., Mrs. Jeannette Nixon of Sonoma, Cal., and Mrs. Connie Wilcox of Concordia, and a son, the Rev. H.E. Lilly of Payette, Idaho.

Obituary

Mrs. Austa DeWolfe Lilly was born October 24, 1869, in Rubio, Ia., one of 10 children born to Wells and Olive DeWolfe, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Connie Wilcox of Concordia, Kan., on December 26, 1953, at the age of 84.

While she was still an infant her family moved to Kansas and settled about five miles north of Belleville.

On February 16, 1890, she was married to Herbert Lilly and to them seven children were born, five of whom survive. A foster son, Bruce Fortune; a son, Archie E. Lilly of Hawthorne, Cal., and a daughter, Mrs. Myrtle Flick preceded Mrs. Lilly in death.

Surviving her are five children, Mrs. Bess L. Burr, Palo Alto, Cal., Mrs. Ruby Boal, San Francisco, Cal., Mrs. Jeanette Nixon, Sonoma, Cal., Mrs. Connie E. Wilcox, Concordia, the Rev. Herbert E. Lilly, Payette, Idaho; 24 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held December 29 at the Wayne Methodist church (sic). Interment was in Union cemetery (sic).
