Funeral services for Ruby Martena Willett Valentine will be Saturday, April 7, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at First Baptist Church of Dry Prong with Reverend Lloyd Whitman officiating under the direction of Rush Funeral Home. Burial will be at Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery, Dry Prong.

Ruby Martena Valentine age 80, of Dry Prong, entered eternal rest Thursday, April 5, 2007.

She was a native of Pollock. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Dry Prong where she served the church in many capacities in a caring and loving manner. She was a devoted homemaker, mother and wife.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Hollice Valentine; one daughter, Carolyn Hastings and her husband John; two brothers, John Phillip Willett and Garvis Willett and two sisters, Marcel Arnold and Hazel Danky.

She is survived by her son, Howard Valentine and his wife Cindy of Dry Prong; three daughters, Judy Rhodes and her husband Charles of Dry Prong, Sandra Eagles and her husband James of Dry Prong and Gale Chelette and her husband Loyd of Dry Prong; one sister, Colleen Hagan of Tioga; seven grandchildren, John Hastings, Jr., Tina Mitchell and her husband Ricky, Loyd "Troubles" Chelette and his wife Shannon, Mike Chelette and his wife Cresy, Rebecca Melancon and her husband Terry, Lee Valentine and his wife Stephanie and Candice Valentine; great grandchildren, Kateland, Lakyn, Kolton Mitchell; Andrew and Joan Melancon; Hali and Marleigh Chelette. She was also adored by a host of nieces, nephew, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Normand Garlington, Chris Brunson, Carl Gates, Billy Chandler, James Crooks and Randy Arnold.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Terry Buckalew and Dr. Martin Tanner and staff.

Visitation will be Friday, April 6, 2007 from 5:00 p. m. until 8:00 p.m at Rush Funeral Home, Pineville and Saturday, April 7, 2007 from 1:00 p.m until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Dry Prong.
