Cathryn H. Jones, mother of Sharon DeMartini of Saratoga, died on March 17 at her home in Los Gatos after a lengthy illness.
Born in Michigan on August 6, 1910, she was the widow of Lt. Col. David Emory Jones, who was killed in World War II.
She was a graduate of College of St. Mary of the Wasatch, Salt Lake City.
She worked as a librarian at Holy Cross High School in Mountain View, at Alma College in Los Gatos and at the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley. In retirement, she volunteered at the Los Gatos branch of the American Red Cross.
In addition to her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Kirch DeMartini, she is survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass was held at St. Mary's in Los Gatos, followed by burial at Madronia Cemetery in Saratoga. Donations may be made to Hospice Charitable Care, Good Samaritan Charitable Trust, P. O. Box 20759, San Jose, 95160.
