Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Memory Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Field of Southeast Baptist Church officiating. Arrangements are by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel, Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street.
Mr. Emerson was born in Gilmer. He served with the Army during World War II. He retired from Bell Helicopter.
He married Mary Elizabeth Emerson in 1953. She died in 1997.
Survivors include two daughters, Doris Rzesyuteck of Holyoke, Mass., and Diane Dixon of Oklahoma City; two sons, J.C. Emerson of Arlington and J.D. Emerson of Oklahoma City; a brother, Bobby Emerson of Kentucky; a sister, Evelyn Lane of Gilmore; and five grandchildren.
