ALABAM -- Dorothy Dee Sikes Edens, 84, of Alabam died Jan. 20, 2006, at Meadowview Healthcare and Rehab in Huntsville. She was born Dec. 3, 1921, at Rotan City, Texas, the daughter of Elmer Granison and Anna Bell Royalty Gardner. She was a retired nursing assistant and a member of the Huntsville Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by a son, Edwin Sikes and a grandson.
Survivors include five sons, Von Dean Sikes and wife Kathy of Alabam, Dennie Sikes of Alabam, Jim Sikes and wife Joni of Springdale, Aubry Sikes and wife Tera of Springdale; Robbie Sikes and wife Aimee of Fayetteville; three daughters, LaVelle Haney and husband Mike of Alma, Reba Sloan and husband Ron of Alabam, Eulanda Bryant and husband Gill of Huntsville; two stepdaughters, Sherry Dillard and husband Jim of Fayetteville, Carol Watkins and husband Loy of Witter; a brother, Winsett Gardner of Albany, Texas; a sister, Revahlee Sherrod of Hemet, Calif.; 25 grandchildren; nine grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with Larry Combs officiating. Burial will be in the Alabam Cemetery.
