FUNERAL SERVICES FOR JOHN BRYSON
John Samuel Bryson who died April 11 at Paris, Idaho was born in Bountiful, Utah in 1870. When he was a small boy he moved with his father and family to Woodruff Utah When he was twelve years old, his father went on a mission leaving him the responsibilities of the ranch and family. At the age of seventeen he went to Border, Wyoming to work for Lon Cook. It was there while helping to bale hay that he fell into the baler and got one leg cut off and the other leg badly mangled. When he was nineteen he and Belzora Linford were married and he became the father of ten children. They lived in Raymond; Idaho for seventeen years and then moved to Star Valley. While Mr Bryson was in Raymond he was Superintendent of the Sunday School. He was a counselor to the Bishop for a long time.
In 1917 he accidentally got hit in the eye with a nail, with the result that he lost his eye. In 1919 and 1920 death claimed his two grown sons, Harold and Lynn and in 1924 his wife died. Since that time he has spent most of his time out of the valley. He leaves to mourn for him, his mother who was eighty eight years old, well and active and six children. they are, Mrs. Ike Wamsley, Garden City, Utah;Mrs. Acel Smith, and Mertis Bryson of Fairview, Wyo; Mrs John Child, Payette, Idaho; Mrs Mildred Belfour, Ogden, Utah and Mrs. Edgar Nebeker, Montpelier, Idaho.
He has twenty seven grandchildren and five great grand children.
Funeral services were held Saturday April 13th at 2 p.m.
under the direction of Bishop J.L. Brown.

Albert Barrus was the first speaker. He told of the sterling qualities of Mr. Bryson and of the love and devotion that existed in the family.

The next speaker was R, H. Hillstead
He said he had always been closely connected with brother and sister Bryson and found them to be fair, honest and honorable people. he told of the miraculous healing Bro. Bryson's granddaughter Evelyn Smith, when it looked as though she could not live and some incidents in the life of his son Robert.

Harold Allen gave a good gospel sermon and Bishop Brown made a few remarks.

The pall bearers were the following High Priests; Leo Smith, Chester Campbell, A.H. Linford, Frank Linford, Willard Brown and A.R. Kennington.
