Norman Newton, 77, of 902 Sunken Road, died today at Mary Washington Hospital.
Mr. Newton was a retired engineer with the U. S. Post Office in Washington. He was also a member of Myron M Parker No. 27 Af & AM in Silver Spring, Md.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Helen W. Newton; one step-sister, Mrs. Elsie Fines; two step-brothers, French and Irvin Allen, all of Fredericksburg.
A Masonic service will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday at Wheeler & Thompson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday the funeral home. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The Revs. B. J. Kistler and Herbert Hall will officiate.
Pallbearers will be William E. Carpenter, Andrew J. Williams, Walterman J. Fairfax, George C. Brown, Percy C. Poates, Jr., and Donald D. Tavener.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
