Lester Charles Dolezal, 80, of Fredericksburg, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2008.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 30, at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Lutheran Church with the Rev. David Priem officiating.

Interment followed in Greenwood Cemetery.

Arrangements were under the direction of Fredericksburg Funeral Home where visitation was held Friday evening, Aug. 29.

Dolezal was born Dec. 25, 1927, in Fredericksburg, the son of Charles Dolezal and Bertha Kaderli Dolezal. He married Merlee Mae Hohenberger in Fredericksburg on Oct. 8, 1949, and she survives.

A 1945 graduate of Fredericksburg High School, Dolezal joined the U.S. Air Force the following year.

Over the years, he was a television/radio repairman, real estate broker/developer and later retired from Mooney Aircraft.

After living in Kerrville for almost 46 years, and after retirement, moved to Fredericksburg in 1995.

He and his wife were members of the local German Club and Camping Squares, winning numerous dance contests. He was also able to play four different musical instruments.

In addition to his wife, Dolezal is survived by two sons, one daughter and spouses, including Wayne and Terri Dolezal of Spicewood; Denise and Russell Baehre of Kerrville, and Dale and Mary Susan Dolezal of Lakeway; five grandchildren, and a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Cecelia Dolezal of Port Lavaca.

Memorials may be made to Holy Ghost Lutheran Church Building Fund or to the charity of choice.

Pallbearers included Russell Baehre, Grant Baehre, Conor Baehre, Kirby Hohenberger, Fredolin Kaderli, Neal Burrer, Wayne Peese and Terry Kordzik.
