Departed on Sep. 2, 2008 and resided in St. Clair Shores, MI.
Loving Father of Debra (Lauren) Weber, Karen (John) Perkins and Tabitha Jaczkowski.
Dear Grandfather of Nico and Lucas Perkins.
Survived by Christine Frostick, his wife of 24 years.
Brother of James Jaczkowski, Patricia Petkash, Elizabeth Ayres, Joseph Jaczkowski, Walter Jaczkowski and Catherine Senyko.
Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and loyal friends.
Holy Mass was offered for the repose of his soul at Saint Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church.
A private funeral has been arranged.

I'll always remember Uncle John as the teacher, philosopher, non-conformist and energy that pushed us outside the cookie-cutter mentality; to question authority; not accept things for face value and that Johnny Cash isn't the only music worth listening to!
I will also cherish our memories, time shared and especially the monologues and tributes Uncle John did - I am an American, Pope John Paul II and my grandfather, Antonio Matelonek. I got to spend some personal time with Uncle John when I got back from Lithuania in the fall of 2006. He took a keen interest in the connection with our family roots and we spent hours talking about the trip; he even helped me put together a website documenting the visit. They say, "Live life so you don't have any regrets!" - well family and friends - I do have a regret, that I didn't get to share more of my life, Renee's, Jillian's and Abigail's with Uncle John.
To Aunt Christine, Debbi, Karen, Tabitha, Lauren and John - may God grant you the strength and courage to make it through today and the next, and with His love, guide you in nurturing your families and keeping Uncle John's spirit forever alive.

I loved the way you helped raise your 3 daughters because they have turned into loving and beautiful young women. I loved the way you helped my son, Jerry, on your vacation time at his dream building. You were always there for my daughter, Jenny. Still can't believe you are gone. I don't think you really knew how much you meant to me or how much you inspired me. Every time you stepped foot in the door, your smile lightened up the room. I could sit and listen to your stories for hours. I could talk to you on a level I can't with anyone else…. Your love for music was so deep. No matter what kind of music it was you would give it a hear. You saw something in me right away and you gave me hope that I will make it in this life. Make it what I want it to be. Thank you for giving that and noticing. You inspired me to pick up my guitar again. You will always be a huge inspiration to keep going forward and go for it if you want it. I'm gonna miss seeing you on both side of the family parties, always taking the pictures for everyone. Loving Father of Debra (Lauren) Weber, Karen (John) Perkins and Tabitha Jaczkowski.
Dear Grandfather of Nico and Lucas Perkins.
Survived by Christine Frostick, his wife of 24 years.
Brother of James Jaczkowski, Patricia Petkash, Elizabeth Ayres, Joseph Jaczkowski, Walter Jaczkowski and Catherine Senyko.
Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and loyal friends.
Holy Mass was offered for the repose of his soul at Saint Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church.
A private funeral has been arranged.

On behalf of John's family, I would like to thank all who attended Holy Mass at Saint Cyril and Methodius Church on Thursday, September 4 to pray for the soul of John Jaczkowski. I would like to express their appreciation for all of your support, help and understanding during this very sad time and thank you for all of your warm condolences and sincere sympathy.
John left personal requests for his family to follow if and when this time arrived. Please continue to support Debra, Karen and Tabitha while they fulfill their father's wishes.
They would like to invite all of John's relatives and friends to sign onto this memorial guest book and leave their thoughts and memories of John.
Throughout the years in the many conversations, letters, and emails that John shared with all of us, he often took the opportunity to challenge us and sometimes to teach us.
John's passing has been both a challenge and lesson for me.
It is not what a man is. It is who he is.
A challenge - to realize that his mortal remains are not John
A lesson - that John is John, that his spirit is John and that the spark he leaves in all of our hearts is John.
John was very gifted with the use of the written and spoken word. I would not attempt to match his eloquence. But if I could, it would be with words that expressed these thoughts:

We miss you so very much,
There will always, always be a place in our hearts for you,
And John, we will meet again.

I'll always remember Uncle John as the teacher, philosopher, non-conformist and energy that pushed us outside the cookie-cutter mentality; to question authority; not accept things for face value and that Johnny Cash isn't the only music worth listening to!
I will also cherish our memories, time shared and especially the monologues and tributes Uncle John did - I am an American, Pope John Paul II and my grandfather, Antonio Matelonek. I got to spend some personal time with Uncle John when I got back from Lithuania in the fall of 2006. He took a keen interest in the connection with our family roots and we spent hours talking about the trip; he even helped me put together a website documenting the visit. They say, "Live life so you don't have any regrets!" - well family and friends - I do have a regret, that I didn't get to share more of my life, Renee's, Jillian's and Abigail's with Uncle John.
To Aunt Christine, Debbi, Karen, Tabitha, Lauren and John - may God grant you the strength and courage to make it through today and the next, and with His love, guide you in nurturing your families and keeping Uncle John's spirit forever alive.

No words can describe how much you have added to my life. You will always be with me even though I miss you so much, so very much!
Your sense of humor, your kindness, your smile, your generosity...all of you was a true asset to today's mixed up world! You always made me smile! I remember how you gave both of my grandkids "whoopee" cushions for their first birthdays. They are just beginning to appreciate the fun of them, wish you were here so they could "trick" their Uncle John.
I am sending you a virtual yellow peace rose, your favorite flower. You always brought me peace of mind and now I pray that you will rest in peace...I know you are!

My big brother John was a loving & very caring father, husband, brother, uncle & friend. John was understanding, compasionate & the most intelligent individual I've ever met. I miss you so Johnnie!! You were taken from us so suddenly; no chance to say good-bye or we love you. It's hard to speak of you in the past! But my big bro!! We have beautiful memories, so fond & true!! Most people would call you my Brother-In-Law which was what you legally are. I would call you my "Friend" first and my bro second. I loved our many conversations and discussions of politics and religion and many other topics. I loved the way you helped raise your 3 daughters because they have turned into loving and beautiful young women. I loved the way you helped my son, Jerry, on your vacation time at his dream building. You were always there for my daughter, Jenny. I loved your jokes which always were very funny and usually had a serious meaning also. I loved the way you ALWAYS helped out anyone in our large family. I will miss you, yes I will. My only consolation is that I know "God" will keep you busy running the radio station listened to by all the Angels!! And if it's not too much trouble since your riding on ahead, stake a claim out for me.

Uncle John AKA Mystery Tramp,
Still can't believe you are gone. I don't think you really knew how much you meant to me or how much you inspired me. Every time you stepped foot in the door, your smile lightened up the room. I could sit and listen to your stories for hours. I could talk to you on a level I can't with anyone else…. Your love for music was so deep. No matter what kind of music it was you would give it a hear. You saw something in me right away and you gave me hope that I will make it in this life. Make it what I want it to be. Thank you for giving that and noticing. You inspired me to pick up my guitar again. You will always be a huge inspiration to keep going forward and go for it if you want it. I'm gonna miss seeing you on both side of the family parties, always taking the pictures for everyone. I would always look forward to seeing you, and be curious to see what new local band you found out about. You will be greatly missed forever by many people. That laugh: One of a kind. You were such a kind hearted soul, I will forever miss you but I will always remember to Keep IT alive! Just like you always told me…
