Mr. Jodie Newton Anderson, 86, of Florien, died Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2000, at Schumpert Medical Center.
Mr. Anderson was born Dec. 22, 1913, in Florien, to parents Jesse Charnel Anderson, and Rebecca Louisiana Anderson. He was a veteran, and attended Antioch Baptist Church. Mr. Anderson was employed as a salesman.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 30, at Antioch Baptist Church. The Rev. Ray Hearron, and the Rev. Jimmie Evans officiated, with interment following at Antioch Cemetery.
Mr. Anderson was preceded in death by his wife, Girthie Ray Leach Anderson; son-in-law, Cody Quinton Corley; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse C. Anderson; and one great grandchild, Jesse Duane Glidewell.
Survivors include one daughter, Sandra Jo Corley of Florien; one son, Jesse James Anderson and wife Joan of Keithville; grandson, Clay Corley and wife Bridget of Florien; two granddaughters, Cala Booker of Florien, and Cabrina Glidewell and husband Renard of Keithville; grandson, Micah Anderson of New Orleans; nine grandchildren, Keaton Booker, Kayden Booker, Brock Booker, Caitlyn Corley, and Cameron Corley, all of Florien; Ally
Glidewell, Danny Glidewell, Julian Glidewell, and Jayde Glidewell, all of Keithville, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Pallbearers were Glen Anderson, Jimmy Leach, Donald Corley, Gerald Jordan, Ralph Funderburk, Freddie Funderburk, Kenneth Funderburk, and Bobby Salter.
