Tom was born in Chicago but moved to Redondo Beach at the age of three. He grew up a true beach boy and loved the ocean.
He served in WWII as a p.38 fighter pilot in the Pacific where he saw plenty of action. After the war, he settled back in Redondo Beach and started his own construction company.
In 1981 he retired to Bullhead City, AZ where he lived nearly 30 yrs.
He leaves behind his wife of 65 yrs, June; son, Thomas James Vick of Bullhead City, AZ; daughter, Christine Schumann of Capistrano Bch; 3 grandsons, Matthew Schumann, Daniel Schumann, Thomas Patrick Vick; 2 granddaughters, Lauren Stanley, Erica Caserta and 2 great-grandchildren, Tanner and Allison Stanley.
A memorial service will be held on October 14th at Fort Rosecrans in San Diego. A celebration will follow at the Capistrano Beach residence where he spent his last year.
