Carl was the son of William Doy Baker and Mary Elva Oliver. He was a farmer either working for himself or his father. He was single when he died of pneumonia at home.

OBITUARY -- Weatherford Democrat, Thursday, March 15, 1945 -- "Carl Lee Baker Laid to Rest Friday In Buckner Hill Cemetery - Carl Lee Baker, age 32 years, whose home was in the Dennis community, died in a Weatherford hospital Thursday morning of last week, where he had been receiving treatment.
He was born in Hood County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. D. Baker, but had lived in the Dennis community most of his life.
He is survived by his father and two brothers and six sisters, as follows: Johnny Baker, Wichita Falls; Earl Baker, Chowchilla, California; Mrs. Pete Waldrup, Mrs. Walker Nash, all of the Dennis community and Mrs. Neal Musgrove of Childress. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon from the Buckner Community Methodist Church by Rev. Richard Millsap and burial was in the Buckner Hill Cemetery."
