With the passing of Mrs Mary Barklull, Fairview loses one of her oldest settlers. She with her husband, Sammuel Barkdull lived here for many years. the wee good neighbors and honest law-abiding people. Those left to mourn are two daughters and five sons. Bert and Gleen have taken care of their mother for years and will miss her dreadfully.
Funeral services were held Saturday Afternoon, October 31st under the direction of Bishop J.L. Brown.

Albert Barrus said he had lived neighbors to Barkdull's for 26 years and always found them honest and upright. He encouraged the boys to live up to the requirements of the gospel so they would be re-united with their parents.

R.H. Hillstead said Mrs. Barkdull had been a wonderful mother, He always found her honest and honorable. He mentioned what a fine fellow Mart Barkdull was. They became acquainted when Mart was homesteading a place by Bro. Hillstead. He spoke of our life and our salvation and asked people to magnify their callings.
Orson Harmon said it was a privilege to be asked to speak at the funeral. he spoke of the three deaths in Fairview in one week. He believes there is work for everyone in the great beyond. He had worked with the Barkdull boy on freight road and in the canyon and found that they had been reared to be decent, honorable dependable boys. We will be rewarded for work we do here.

Con Millward said he loved Mrs. Barkdull. He told the story of Johnson's army coming to Salt Lake City. Mrs. Barkdull was just a child then, but remembered the incident well. He said it was the duty of members of the ward to each help to get the rest of the Barkdull boys to join the L.D.S. Church.
Bishop J.L. Brown said the family was easy to get along with He remembered when Samuel Barkdull built his father a hay derrick, the first of that kid in the valley. He said Mrs Barkdull always greeted him with a smile and said she was feeling pretty well. We came this way but once, list mend our ways and do better.

Some of those from out of town present at the funeral were: Lola Barkdull Low and daughter Elaine, Mr and Mrs. William Barkdull, John Barkdull, Mrs. Whitehead, a daughter, David Branson and several others.
