James McAbee, 77, of Gordon, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, in Macon. Son of the late Rev. David Thomas & Bertha Burdette McAbee, he was born in Newberry SC, but had resided in Wilkinson County for most of his adult life. Mr. McAbee was retired from the Engelhard Corporation as a machine operator . Preceded in death by his wife, Bettie Edwards McAbee, he was a member of Henderson Road Baptist Church.
