Was the son of John D. Branscome and Mary Frances Mabry Branscome.

Franklin was an ordained Primitive Baptist minister.

A teacher from Nov. 1881 until March 1893, while teaching he studied surveying and became a Court surveyor a position he held for 8 years.

In January 1897 he Founded and Edited the Primitive Baptist Periodical "Messenger of Truth" published in Laurel Fork, Va.,

Was Assistant Clerk of the New River Primitive Baptist Association.

Franklin Pierce Branscome was known to be a Zealous Advocate of the simplicity of Bible doctrine and for his style of No Jesting and No Foolishness in the
pulpit.
