Private funeral services for Minnie Wing Barker, 79, who came to San Jose 67 years ago when the city was little more than a village, and who died here Saturday, will be held from the Roger Darling Garden Chapel, with private interment in Oak Hill Memorial Park. Mrs. Barker, whose husband, Albert, practiced dentistry here for 50 years prior to his death in 1938, was born in Illinois. She was socially prominent throughout her lifetime. Surviving is a son, Chester W. Barker of Palo Alto. (San Jose Mercury, San Jose, California 8/28/1944)
