Dwight LaRue Berry



Dwight LaRue Berry, age 81, of Marion, N.C., died Friday, September 5, 2008.

A native of Caldwell County, he was born June 9, 1927 to the late Oscar Ivey Berry and Tulabelle Echerd Berry.

He was retired from C.E. Air Preheater and was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served in World War II.

A daughter Donna Berry preceded him in death.

Mr. Berry leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 50 years Mary Noblitt Berry of the home; three sons: Dwight Berry Jr., Bruce Berry and wife Susan, and Brian Berry; a sister Eloise Hamilton and four grandchildren Daryl, Nikki, Brian K. and Ellen.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 9, at 11:00 AM in Westmoreland Chapel with Rev. George Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 AM one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.

The US Navy will provide military honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Berry family, 63 Dwight Berry Road, Marion, NC 28752.
