My Allison Connections book says he was born @ 1820. This book also says that married Elizabeth A. Brown, daughter of Hyram Brown and Mary Allison, and that they had one child, Mary Jane, before he died. They were married 3 Mar 1847 in Sparta, White County, Tennessee.

This is the source for it I use on Wikitree: Franklin, Della P. "Pat". Allison Connections. Ozark, MO: Dogwood Printing Co., 1988. Page 444 & 564.

There are 876 pages in the book and 122 pages in the Index. It is about 3 inches thick - BIG book. It's about the desc. of John Allison, Sr., born between 1720 and 1729. He is my mother's 4th great grandfather. This is all about my mother's side. She was a Mansell. Gideon Brown was her gr-grandfather; I have a tintype of him. She came home with it from a Mansell Reunion. I think she paid about $80 for it back then, but it is very good with very few mistakes.

If you live in TN, you might find one at a library around Putnam County. Sometimes researchers put their works in the libraries where their people were.

Good luck,
