Isaac M. Elmore.

Isaac M. Elmore was born in Green county, Indiana, February 11, 1846. Died at his home, near Caldwell, Kansas, Janaury 20, 1911, aged 64 years, 11 months and 9 days.

At the age of sixteen years Mr. Elmore enlisted as a private soldier in the 65th regiment of Indiana volunteers and served till the close of the war. The deceased was a member of the G.A.R. post at Caldwell. A few of the old soldiers followed the remains to the cemetery and buried their fallen comrade with the honors of the post. Thus another of the world's heroes has fallen out of the ranks here to join the ever increasing army above and thus with each hero folding his tent in this life to pitch it on the green hills of eternity there is added a greater meaning to the liberty which we are blessed.

The deceased was married to Harriet J. Perry November 8, 1866. To this union were born thirteen children. The aged wife and mother with eight children survive to mourn the loss of the husband and father.

A large company of neighbors and friends gathered at the home Sunday morning, January 22, at 10 o'clock, where short services were held, conducted by C.M. Myers, after which the remains were interred in the Caldwell cemetery.

Sleep on brave soldier, your work is done
Under the sod or dew
It matters not to you,
Your battles are fought, your victories won.
