CRASH VICTIM SUCCUMBS TO INJURIES

Judy May Ashley, 20, of Clendenin, died Monday in Charleston General Hospital as a result of injuries received Nov. 20 in a one-car automobile accident.

Miss Ashley suffered internal and head injuries when the car she was driving went out of control and slammed into a rock wall on U.S. 119 at Doctors Creek. Three passengers in the car were hospitalized, but have been released. The accident occurred near Miss Ashley's home.

She was a graduate of Herbert Hoover High School and a cashier of the Ben Franklin 5 & 10 Store in Clendenin.

Surviving: parents, Mr. and Mrs. Burl Ashley of Clendenin; brothers, Danny and Dale of Clendenin; sister, Mrs. Wanda Galyle (sic) Myers of Clendenin; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. I. L. Ashley of Clendenin, D. F. Westfall of Clendenin.

Service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in Knight and Young Funeral Home, Clendenin, with the Rev. Don Balckwell officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Cemetery, Jackson Ridge, Roane County. Friends may call Wednesday after 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
