She was born on December 3, 1926 in Galesburg to Joe and Luciana (Alvarez) Mejia. She married Joseph P. Sandoval in Galesburg on June 21, 1952. He preceded her in death on May 19, 1993.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Jesus (Martha) Guzman of Galesburg, IL; three sons, John Sandoval and Joseph Sandoval, both of Galesburg, IL and Philip Sandoval of Grand Junction, CO; two sisters, Mrs. Jess (Lucy) Nache and Mrs. Roger (Rose) Stockman, both of Galesburg, IL; a niece, Mrs. Juan (Frances) Guzman of Galesburg, IL; six grandchildren and a great grandchild.
A graduate of Galesburg High School, she worked at Midwest Photo and Scandia Bakery for several years. She was a member of Corpus Christi Church in Galesburg and the Altar Rosary Society.
Her funeral was held at 10:00 AM Tuesday September 25, 2001 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with Rev. Thomas Seibert officiating. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Galesburg.
