Jennie lived nearly her entire life in Jennings County. Her first marriage was to Patrick Bernard Flood on April 25, 1869 in Jennings County. They had two children Charles B. Flood who died as an infant and Josephine Flood. They were divorced and on March 23, 1879 she married Simeon Stewart. Almost all her life was spent in Montgomery Township. Her last home was once the parsonage of the Paris Methodist Church where she lived when she died in 1940 fifteen years after the death of Simeon. She continued to be active until nearly the end of her life, her diary tells of daily walks to Paris Crossing to visit friends and working in her garden, canning and cleaning. She did go occasionally to visit her step-daughter Pearl in Florida and we still have a coconut and large sea shell she brought home from one of those trips.
