Charlene Osborne

Charlene Faye Osborne, age 82,died on THursday September 15, 2005, at Buena Vista Regional Medical Ceneter in Strom Lake.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 20 2005, at First Presbyterian Church, Alta with Pastor Craig Lee officiating. Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery, Alta. Barker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Charlene Faye Osborne was born on August 16, 1923 to Don and Nora (Johnson) Castle in Alta. She graduated from Alta Consolidated School.
On August 22, 1943, Charlene was united in marriage to Cpl. George W. Osborne of the U.S. Air Force. This union was blessed with one son, Lynn William Osborne. While George was in the service, Charlene worked as a secretary at Alta High School. When George was discharged from the Air Force, she left her job at the school. They farmed north of Alta for 36 years.
Charlene was a lifelong member of Frist Presbyterian Church in Alta. She loved to work outside and enjoyed going hunting and fishing with George and Lynn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Jack and Don jr; one brother-in-law, Lyle Smith; and one sister-in-law, Ana Mae Castle.
Charlene is survived by her husband, George of 62 years; one son, Lynn and his wife Shirley of Holliday Island, Ark.; five grandchildren: Tom Osborne and his wife Samantha of Parkville. Mo., Chad Osborne of Smithville, Mo., Anita Hagberg of Kansas City, MO.,Sharon LaFever of Raytown, Mo., and Larry LaFever of Blue Springs, MO.; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Carolyn and her husband Al Lanue of Thompson Falla, Mont.; and many other relatives and friends.
