Death of Bernard Melvin Allen

Bernard Melvin Allen, second child of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Allen of Douglas township, died at his home in Douglas township, Sunday, May 26, at the age of four years and six months. The boy was born in Des Moines, but came to this county, with his parents, soon afterwards.

Two months ago, he had the measles and developed rheumatic fever, which caused his death. He leaves besides his parents, a sister, Dorothy Josephine, and a brother, Darrel Mac, and his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. J. V. Boatright and Mrs. R. J. Brown.

The Rev. A. R. Weed conducted his funeral services, Tuesday morning, May 28th, at the Ramsey-Richards funeral home, at ten o'clock, and burial was made in the McDonald cemetery.
