Dessie Ella Warren, 92, of 43 Woodward Ave., died Thursday in an Asheville hospital after a short illness.
A native of bumcombe County, she was a daughter of the late Dave and Celie Ann Smathers Warren. She was a member of Woodland Hills Baptist Church on Leicester Highway.
Surviving are a brother, Mack R. Warren and a sister, Mrs. Maggie W. Davis, both of the home; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Morris Funeral Home. The Rev. James Kingsley will officiate. Burial will be in Piney Mountain Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
