Confederate officer. Graduated from the University of Georgia in 1861; practiced law in Lafayette; lieutenant, Company G, of the 11th Georgia Infantry - July 3, 1861; major - July 11, 1862; colonel - November 8, 1862; commanded George T. Anderson's Brigade from time to time later in the war; wounded at Gettysburg and at Ream's Station.

Col. Little was elected to the US Congress in 1867, but was not seated.
