Rex L. McCoy, 92, Springfield, passed away on June 11, 2007 in his home. Rex was born on September 11, 1914 in Highlandville, MO to Arley and Pearl (Couts) McCoy. He was married to Geraldine (Ringenberg) McCoy for 56 years. They were united in marriage on Oct. 10, 1942, in Nashville, Tenn. He was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine (Ringenberg) McCoy, 1 brother, Orville McCoy, and 2 sisters, Ila Howard and Waunita Robertson. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Gerald & Theresa McCoy of Springfield and 3 grandchildren, Nicole, Tim and Sarah McCoy. Rex was a World War II veteran having served 4 years in the Army Air Force in India. He later owned his own business before finally retiring from Zenith. He was a member of the Strafford Masonic Lodge and the Ozark Mountain Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution. Graveside services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Greenlawn Cemetery.
