In addition to her father, who passed away in 1985, she was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Samuel L. "Pap-pap" Reed; paternal grandparents, Ray W. and Roni E. (McCusker) Buckman; and her uncle, Ronald Reed.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her children: Sidney, Victoria, Edward and Matthew Buckman; a brother, Leonard Buckman of Jacksonville, Fla.; maternal grandmother, Frances Reed of Patton; aunts and uncles: Janine (Jack) Serafin, Bunny (P.J.) Stevens, Sam (June) Reed, Tony Reed and Shelly, Mike (Connie) Reed, Lori (John) Shook. Sister Amy Buckman Perry and Aunt Susan Buckman (Rich) Fancher; numerous cousins; loving supporter and comforter, Edward "Ken" Kerchenske; and best friend, Shauna Lloyd.
Leah was a 1999 graduate of Cambria Heights High School.
Friends will be received from 2 to 9 p.m. today, Aug. 29, 2008, at Stevens Funeral Home Inc., 1004 N. Fifth Ave., Patton, where a vigil for the deceased will be held (www.stevensfh.com). A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown, by the Rev. Jude W. Brady, OSB. Committal at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Leah struggled with Multiple Sclerosis for more than half of her life and memorials are requested to the National Multiple Sclerosis Association.
