Alfred James "Jim" Trexler, 75, 929 Sixth Ave., Duncansville, died Wednesday at home.

He was born in Cross Keys, son of the late Alfred J. and Effie (Osborn) Trexler. He married Marguerite "Peggy" Davis Dec. 30, 1953, in Winchester, Va.

Surviving are his wife; three daughters: Linda Filby (Don) of Altoona, Sue Mielnik (Steve) of Duncansville and Ellen Trexler of Ormond Beach, Fla.; a son, James Trexler (Beth) of Altoona; five grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; two sisters: Kathleen Shutt and Patti Burk, both of Altoona; and a brother, Phil Trexler in New York.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Edith Detrick.

Jim was a 1951 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving during the Korean conflict. He worked for the A&P Bakery for 28 years, where he was a senior supervisor. He then retired in 1996 from the Blair County Redevelopment and Housing Authority.

He was a member of Duncansville Evangelical Lutheran Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Friends received afternoon and evening, Sept. 5, 2008, at Liebegott-Brown Funeral Home, 1218 Fourth Ave., Duncansville. A funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at Duncansville Evangelical Lutheran Church, officiated by the Rev. Jaime G. Olson.

Interment at Carson Valley Cemetery, Duncansville.
