ABUT - David Sebastian, 77, passed away on September 2nd in Toms River, NJ. David was born in Brooklyn, NY to his parents, Marie Moran of Brooklyn, and David Abud of Nicaragua on October 17, 1930. After moving back from Nicaragua, David attended St. Raymond School and East Rockaway High School. Dave was a proud veteran of the Korean War and member of the East Rockaway Fire Dept. He worked at Grumman Corp. and helped design the lunar module that was used on the moon, where his name had been placed by the Apollo 11 astronauts. He retired from Verizon Communications in 1994. Dave is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Patricia (nee Verrall) and their adoring children Gail (George), Christine (Christopher), David (Robert), Brian (Tracey) and Michele (Edwin). "Poppy" will be missed by his beloved grandchildren, Frank, Ken, Brian, Sean, Matthew and Sofia; and his sister-in-law, Nancy (Albert) and their extended family. Dave is also survived by siblings Adolfo, Ninette, Dora, Tania and predeceased siblings Sofia and Mario. David was a good and gentle man who never met a person he didn't like. Family receiving friends at Donza Funeral Home, 333 Atlantic Avenue, East Rockaway, LI. Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9:30. Firemanic services Thursday 7:30 followed by Religious service. Funeral 10 am Friday morning with interment to follow to LI National Cemetery, Pinelawn, NY.
