J. Philip Ritchey, of R. D. Saxton, died at his late home on Thursday night, Nov. 23, 1944. He was a son of Abraham and Catherine (Brumbaugh) Ritchey, deceased, and was born in Bedford County, Dec. 13, 1858. He was aged at the time of death 85 years, 11 months and 10 days. He was twice married. His first marriage was to Mary Hoover and following her death he married Adeline Reed. Mr. Ritchey was an active member of the Raven Run Church of the Brethren, R. D. Saxton. He is survived by his second wife and the following children: Mrs. Joseph Wyles, Mrs. Catherine Reed, Mrs. Mahlon Hoover, Mrs. Howard Wyles, Mrs. George Dixon, Mrs. Ray Worthing, Mrs. John Fleegle, Mahlon Hoover, and Elvin Hoover, all of Saxton; Jesse Ritchey and Mrs. Stanley Cleeves, of Lansing, Mich.; Ambrose Ritchey, of Rockingham, N. C.; and Mrs, Paul Wyles, of New Enterprise.
