A.E. "Art" Drake, 77 years, of Spokane, WA passed away October 17, 2006 in Spokane.

He was born January 29, 1929 in Ford County, Kansas to Clarence D. and Mary E. (Westerfield) Drake, and is survived by Kathryn Vensland of Colbert, WA, daughter Mary Pritchard of Spokane, WA, Roy Kane of Spokane, WA, daughters Elizabeth Roche of Louisianna, Ruth Jensen of Spokane, WA, Rosa Mae Drake preceded in death in 1962; Eleven grandchildren including Pamela Shelton of Florida; Eight great grandchildren; one brother Albert and his wife Donna Drake of Spokane, WA; two sisters Alice Bephuren of Southland, MO and Katherine Wogatzke, Mocksville, NC; many nieces and nephews.

He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked for Inland Empire Paper Products in the grinding room.

A memorial service will be held in the Colonial Chapel of the Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home, 1306 N Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA 99206 on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at 10:00 am with Dr. Barry Foster officiating.

Inurnment will take place in the Senaquoteen Cemetery of Sandpoint, Idaho at 2:00 pm.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home.
