John L. Beglinger, age 67, passed away on Jan. 1, 2007, surrounded by his family at St. Mary's Hospital following a brief illness. He was born on Feb. 14, 1939, the son of Roy and Bernadine (Wagner) Beglinger. John was a lifelong resident of Madison. He attended Edgewood High School and Milton College, graduating with a degree in business. On Jan. 28, 1961, he married Patricia Gorychka. John was employed by the State Collection Service and most recently acquired the title of director of schmooze. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Pat; four children, Tim (Terri) of Stoughton, Ann (Mitch) Kurtz of Plainfield, IL, Matt of Verona, and Jonathan (Megan) of Madison; six grandchildren, Christopher, Carl, Bryce, Madeline, Oliva and Sydney; sister, Joanne (Ev) Chambers of Tomah; and many relatives and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon on Jan. 4, 2007, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 401 S. Owen Drive, Madison, with Monsignor Kenneth Fiedler officiating. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may greet the family from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Edgewood High School, St. Maria Goretti School, or St. Mary's Hospital. A special thank you to the nurses of St. Mary's Hospital Medical ICU.
