Her brother Nathan Stanton, per Nathan's lengthy letter of 1896 worked at Fairchild's Flour Mill in Washington, Co Ohio in the 1840s. The mill was located 2 miles from the Ohio River.
It was one of the stations on the Underground Railroad from Virginia. Provisions for the Runaways were provided at the mill which we can assume Emily prepared. The Stantons and Fairchilds were strong Abolishionists. Contributed by JBaker (50480793).
