CLYDE GUTHRIE

Clyde Guthrie, 57, of 1927 Ohio avenue, Joplin, a former resident of Fairland, was killed instantly Wednesday night on the outskirts of Fordland, Mo., when the truck he was driving ran off the highway. He was pinned in the wreckage.
Mr. Guthrie, a native of Clever, Mo., was employed by the Wilson Brothers Truck Line of Carthage. He moved from Fairland to Joplin in 1944.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mamie Guthrie of the home; two sons, Leroy Guthrie of Seneca and Richard Guthrie of Duquesne, Mo.; four daughters, Mrs. Pauline Chambers of Joplin, Mrs. Erma Brennecke of Hebron, Ill., Mrs. Peggy Green, Oklahoma City, and Mrs. Carol Noble, Racine, Mo.; a sister, Mrs. Blanche Barnes of Phoenix, Ariz., and 13 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Mason Funeral home chapel, Joplin, with the Rev. Lee Williams officiating. Graveside rites will be held at the Fairland cemetery at 3:30.
