Aged 69 years, 5 months & 15 days. According to Julia Sweitzer (a family relative) Silas was born 23 March 1781 and had died from "Ship Fever". John E. Sherman reports that Silas was probably born at Sharon, Litchfield Co., Connecticut area. He was the son of Jeduthan and Anna (Warren) Gray. Silas married Polly Hare and together they had seven children: 1.) Levi, 2.) Emeline, 3.) William, 4.) Bethel, 5.) Angeline, 6.) Lyman, and 7.) Jeduthan. Polly died early in the marriage and Silas remarried to a woman named Mary. No children were born to this union. Silas died August 19, 1849 at Spartansburg, Crawford Co., Pennsylvania. He was laid to rest in the Concord Corners Cemetery, Concord Twp., Erie Co., Pennsylvania.
