Sacred to the Memory of Mrs. Sarah Porter, the amiable and virtuous consort of Col. Elisha Porter, and only daughter of the Rev* Daniel Jewett of New London. Lovely in life and lamented in death. She died April 5th AD. 1775 In ye 37 year of her age. "Heaven gives us friends, To bless the present scene, But claims them to Prepare us for the next."
