Freise, a Protestant, a diligent man who worked at his father's meat market. Mamie and Phil had only one child, Marie Elizabeth. A deeply religious person, Mamie taught her daughter to spend wisely but she gave very generously. She adored her 3 grandchildren and spoiled them rotten. Mamie died of lymphosarcoma, a disease of the lymph glands, cancer. She is deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
