Dorothy Malone REMINGTON Dorothy was born in South Heart, North Dakota, October 27, I9I9 to Edward and Mary Malone. She passed away peacefully, July 5, 2008. She graduated from South Heart High School, then obtained her nursing degree in 194I from St. Joseph's Nursing School in St. Paul, Minnesota. Dorothy met and then married her husband John P. Remington, M.D. in 1942. They recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Together they had two sons, John Michael and Jeffrey Paul. Dorothy and John resided in Davenport, Washington from the end of World War II until 1970. During this time Dorothy was a loving, thoughtful, and dedicated wife and mother. She enjoyed many activities but especially duplicate bridge, golf, and ballroom dancing. She along with her beloved husband attained the rank of Silver Life Master in the American Contract Bridge League. John and Dorothy lived in Spokane, Washington from 1970 to 1995 where they had many friends and acquaintances. In 1995 they retired to Carefree, Arizona but returned to the Pacific Northwest in 2006 to be closer to children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dorothy is survived by her husband, John P. Remington, M.D. and her two sons, John M. (Ann) Remington, M.D. and Jeffrey P. (Sharon) Remington, M.D. There are five grandchildren, Christine E. (Bob) Meyers, Michelle E. (David) Williamson, Matthew J. (Meghan) Remington, Brian P. (Monika) Remington, and Lindsey D. Remington. Most recently she has enjoyed the company of two great-grandchildren, Mason Joseph and Peyton Aileen Remington. There will be a Memorial Mass at Holy Rosary Church, Edmonds, Washington at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 17, 2008. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations made to Providence Hospice of Seattle, 425 Pontius Avenue North, Seattle, Washington 98109, (206)320-4000.
