Mr. Clayton "Del" Andrews, 90, of Port Huron Township, died Friday, August 29, 2008 in Green Acres Retirement Living, Cadillac.
He was born December 12, 1917 in Harbor Beach to the late Jay and Alice Andrews. He married Helen Peltier on July 2, 1938 in Marysville.

Mr. Andrews was a fireman with Port Huron Township for 22 years, retiring as Fire Chief in 1982.

He was also employed by Mueller Brass, Pressed Metals and Grand Trunk and Port Huron and Detroit Railroads.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Helen; a daughter, Alice Anna (Wesley) Rawlin of Cadillac; a son, Clayton Delbert "Butch" (Marcia) Andrews of Johannesburg; two grandchildren, Ruth (Dave) Tacoma of Falmouth and Dr. J. William "Bill" (Tina) Rawlin of Traverse City; and six great-grandchildren, Andrew, Reuben, Wesley, Joseph, Jayden and Jenna.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jay and Billie, and a sister, Betty Bisnett.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Major Tim Meyer of the Salvation Army will officiate.

Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.

Members of the Port Huron Township Fire Department will serve as pallbearers.
