Funeral services were held April 29, at the First United Methodist church, for Alta B. Carpenter, 79, who died Sunday, April 27, at Sulphur. Rev. Don Bradford officiated. Interment was in Flynn Memorial Cemetery, Cushing, with arrangements by Clagg Funeral Home.
Born Jan. 4, 1901, in Missouri, she came to Oklahoma at the age of four and grew up in the Cushing area. She married Elmer Paul Carpenter on Dec. 8, 1920 at Chandler. He preceded her in death Jan. 17, 1975. They had lived in Sulphur for the past ten years.
Survivors include a son, Paul Carpenter, Sulphur; three brothers, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
