J.D. was born in Sulpher Springs. He was a resident of Arlington for 54 years.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He received two Bronze Stars, three Campaign Medals, and one Campaign Ribbon.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Carmen and Elmer Tabor, and his wife Billie Marie Tabor.
Survivors: He is survived by sons and daughter, James Tabor of Arlington, Jerry Tabor of Arlington, Gary Don Tabor of Fort Worth and Judy McGalliard of Winchester, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
