INDIANAPOLIS — Brigadier Rodney B. Sharp, 89, died Aug. 29, 2008, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, after a brief illness.

He retired from The Salvation Army as a career officer and ordained minister.

Survivors include his daughter, Linda Sharp; sisters-in-law, Marjuriete Farmer of Middletown and Ulla B. Rose; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Rodney was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Louise Sharp.

Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, officiated by Majors Richard and Vicki Amick. Burial will take place at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation one hour prior to the Tuesday service at the South Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to The Salvation Army (Indianapolis) for the Brigadiers Rodney and Mary Louise Sharp Education Fund.
