Rites for Douglas Oliver Cosby, Brookston, who died at 7:15 p.m. Friday the day before his 63rd birthday at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Thompson Mortuary, Brookston. The Rev Charles Kern will officiate and burial will be in Freedom Cemetery near Waveland.
He died of burns suffered at 2 p.m. Friday while at work at the Brookston manufacturing Company. He was cleaning the Furnace there when a live cinder set fire to his pant leg and he suffered burns over 3/4 of his body.
Born near Waveland on Jan 28, 1898, he was married to Lola Scott, who is deceased. Survivors are 2 sons, Donald at home and Henry of Seattle Washington. A daughter Mrs Leona Akion, Frankfort and 5 grand sons and 3 brothers, Lando, Verne of Waveland and Lee of Crawfordsville.

Rev. Charles Kern officiated and the body was taken to Freedom cemetery near Waveland for burial.
